COST

$195.00 / licensed retouched image.

SITTING FEE

There is no sitting fee. However the client is agreeing to license one image at the $195.00 / licensed retouched image fee. And of course if the client would like to license additional images, they can for a fee of $195.00 / licensed retouched image.

PROCESS:

STEP 1. CREATIVE

We discuss (via phone or email) the creative aspects of the shoot i.e. the outfits / looks / the “feel” the client wants to portray. During this process we can reference other photographs to help you formulate and distill your photographic vision. This can be as classic as the traditional headshot, possibly with a modern flare, to something more creative by using props to showcase who you are, for examples, skis, bikes, microphones, musical instruments - to name a few ideas. The creative process is simple and we walk you though it quickly.

Time Needed: This can be a few minutes on the phone / email. Or if the shoot is more involved it can be a few hours.

STEP 2. PHOTOSHOOT

This is when the magic happens and the client goes before the camera at our studio. We create images of the subject looking great while portraying their marketing message and brand. This take place in my studio. Typically, most headshot sessions take less than 90 minutes. Some can even be as short as 30 minutes. This timeframe includes, the photoshoot as well as selecting your image.

Time Needed: The Photoshoot + Proofing typically take less than 90 minutes when photographed at my studio.

STEP 3. PROOFING

Proofing is the act of viewing proofs. Proofs are non-licensed and non-retouched images. A typically headshot session may produce hundreds of proofs. By looking at the proofs you choose your "Selects." The selects will become your licensed, fully-retouched high resolution image. You only pay for the images that you choose to license. During the shoot, we take continual breaks to review the proofs and select the clients favorite proofs that they will choose to license. By the end of the photoshoot, the client has selected the image that they’d like to license. All licensed images are fully retouched. And all retouching notes are discussed and agreed upon during this process.

Time Needed: The Photoshoot + Proofing typically take less than 90 minutes when photographed at my studio.

STEP 4. PAYMENT

The final amount is invoiced once the selects have been made. This can be either paid via card, cash, or check. At this point the work of the subject is complete. Typically within a few hours the client will receive their retouched high licensed resolution image.

Time Needed: Very little the time it takes to pay with cash, check, or card at the end of the selection process.

STEP 5. RETOUCHING

After selections and payment are made each image is fully retouched to make the image shine. Examples are optimizing exposure, contrast, colors, removing blemishes, stray hairs, and other specific client requests.

Time Needed: Typically retouching is accomplished within 1 business day. Often the client receives the images the same day as the photoshoot.

STEP 6. DELIVERY

The high resolution fully retouched licensed image(s) are delivered via a link that allows the client to download the images directly to their computer.

Included in the download is:

1, The high resolution image for printing (300dpi jpeg file in sRBG color space)

2, The coresponding low resolution image (72dpi jpeg file in sRGB color space) for for web and electronic devices.

Time Needed: Delivery is accomplished immediately upon finishing retouching. Typically this is accomplished within 1 business day.

CONSIDERATIONS:

TOTAL TIME

The total time at my studio for the client is typically less than 90 minutes and this includes the photoshoot, proofing process and payment. Many headshot session take less than 45 minutes.

MINIMUM PURCHASE AMOUNTS

By completing a headshot session the subject is committing to a minimum required purchase amount of 1 licensed image ($195.00) per headshot session. Each additional image licensed image is priced at $195.00 / licensed retouched image.

COPYRIGHT

The client has full printing rights and reproduction rights in all media forms forever.

Glass Photography retains the copyright and can use said images that copyright law covers including marketing efforts of Glass Photography.

STUDIO LOCATION

The location of Glass Photography is nestled on the west side of beautiful Fort Collins, near the Foothills trail (i.e. Maxwell). Take your headshot, then go for a hike?!

PRICE OF LOCATION SHOOTS

Typically within Northern Colorado a minimum of 3 licensed images are required. ($195.00 x 3 licensed retouched images = $585.00).

HOWEVER, ALL location shoots need a custom quote. This can take less than 60 seconds with an email or phone call.

The minimum purchase amount is dependent upon numerous factors including travel, creative complexity, assistants, on-site proofing, to name a few.

WHO NEEDS A HEADSHOT

The headshot or business headshot is considered one of the most important marketing tools. The headshot is an integral part of how a person presents themselves to the world? For example, an email signature can often be your first impression. Have you had the experience of looking at an email and the saying, "wow, that person looks extremely friendly?" Thereby you are more apt to email them with their humanity in-mind? Or let's imagine the headshot on a business card - it often forms a lasting impression and you will be remembered the next time they see you or they look at your business card. Again, we are designed to remember faces, and a great headshot is a key to being remembered. In our digital age, where often we do not see each other face to face - however with the headshot it brings your humanity and best to the person. It makes them remember that you ARE a real person on the otherside of the keyboard.
